Biography
Rukaya Abowen-Dake is a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying in the School of Science, Engineering & Environment. She has over 10 years teaching experience in UK higher education. Her teaching interests relate to construction procurement and contract administration. Rukaya has research interests in social value in construction, local stakeholder engagement, construction project procurement systems and related contracts, processes, resources, and how these mechanisms are utilised by procuring entities to promote social sustainability for communities. Her current research (PhD) focuses on social value in construction and social procurement in public institutions.
