Hannah Robinson-Smith - Councillor for Cadishead and Lower Irlam and Lead Member for Culture, Heritage, Equalities, Sports & Leisure - is one of our presenters for the Create Student Awards 2025.

Councillor Hannah Robinson-Smith is a proud University of Salford alumni, having graduated in 2007 in BA (Hons) English Literature. Throughout her years at University, Hannah volunteered at Salford Citizens Advice, and her commitment to social justice and serving her community was established. Hannah initially trained as a solicitor and worked in legal aid, before returning to her first subject and qualifying as a teacher. Hannah spent over a decade working in a diverse inner city community school as a teacher of English and Media Studies, and as Literacy Coordinator for the secondary phase in an all-through age school.  

Hannah was first elected as a local councillor representing the ward she lives in, in 2021. Since 2022, Hannah has also held a position of leadership in the City Mayor’s Cabinet and is currently Lead Member holding the portfolio for Culture, Heritage, Equalities, Sports & Leisure. She is also Chair of Salford Twinning Association and Salford Culture & Place Partnership. 

Hannah is Chief Executive Officer at Everyday, a grassroots community and participatory arts organisation in Wigan.
