Your induction

Students on campus

Find out what will take place in your first few weeks at Salford. Your course induction will prepare you with the necessary information and support you need to get off to a good start.

Course induction

A University of Salford lecturer stood at the front of a lecture theatre, with students sat on benches listening.

As a new student, getting to know your school, your course and your coursemates is one of the most important parts of starting at a new university.

Your course team has designed a programme of essential induction activities to help give you the best possible start to your academic journey.

Induction activities will start from 8 September and will introduce you to your course, your tutors and support staff, and give you the opportunity to meet other students. Many will take place on campus, and we expect you to attend all induction activities for your course.

Please note: We're currently finalising the induction schedules and as soon as they're ready you'll receive an email with a link to your schedule. You will also be able to access them from this page. Please check back towards the end of August.

In the meantime, if you're not sure of the difference between a lecture and a seminar, and want to brush up on your knowledge of university terminology, take a look at our glossary of common university words and what they all mean.
